I think digital media agencies can bring the technical support to the creativity of advertising specialists, while PR will manage and administrate how the message will look and be distributed, holding everything in line.
Also, I love the analogy used by PRweek, it perfectly illustrates the need for PR professionals when using social media. You need that person who knows what's going to work and what not. You can send out millions of messages, if they're not properly structured and aimed at the right audience it's all for nothing.

'SurvivingPR'danielahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03305127753051279129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2459903029086935325.post-56721728559074953012011-02-13T20:11:01.263+00:002011-02-13T20:11:01.263+00:00this is really good babe, a really critical insigh...this is really good babe, a really critical insight. I had never seriously considered unpaid work experience as exploitative, just a bit of a pain in the arse. Yet now that I think about it, graduate employers were not doing this before all of the media hype about a saturated job market. What is more, if corporations can exploit workers thousands of miles away via sweat shops and poor pay, why would they have any qualms about doing it here. The inconvenient truth is, in this competitive market economy- morals have never really come into the equation.Nathaliehttp://www.facebook.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2459903029086935325.post-66978973293854606082011-02-13T18:25:33.111+00:002011-02-13T18:25:33.111+00:00I totally agree with you but for now not much cou...I totally agree with you but for now not much could be done. I was lucky my work experience was paid but I can't remember of a single classmate of mine who was paid...
Maybe if there were any criteria of what sets of skills are needed for being a PR professional or a well structured work experience scheme stating clearly for how long and under what conditions a student/ graduate can have a placement. Unfortunately there is no such a sheme and most skills are learnt while working and it highly depends on where you work because agencies and companies set the rules, i.e doing public affairs requires skills a bit different than those for event management:)Mariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06055218974112588679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2459903029086935325.post-77306740892170140002011-01-18T18:44:34.249+00:002011-01-18T18:44:34.249+00:00coca cola are like well gay m8 wtf innitcoca cola are like well gay m8 wtf innitAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2459903029086935325.post-72388427898526320802010-12-21T15:15:56.085+00:002010-12-21T15:15:56.085+00:00Well this video is SO bad that it looks like a spo...Well this video is SO bad that it looks like a spoof done after the tuition fees increase to take the piss.

It's so enraging to see lies as blatant as these grrrr. I think the video is way too commercial...if I had seen this before the elections I would have thought wtf is he running for prime minister or for Miss World! Seriously play the vid again but don't watch it, listen to it as if it was radio and then you'll hear how they've just put everything they've ever heard British people moaning about and promised it would get changed. Why after all these years and after a major economic crisis would he be able to wave his magic wand and make it all a peaceful place?

Maybe he should have added in the video that in order for tuition fees to stay the same, they would have got every single MP to pay back the tax payers money they spent to cater their rich lifestyles WITH INTEREST...because seriously who gives a toss if they've resigned!

Sorry about the rant Tom lol I was inspired in the momentines16https://www.blogger.com/profile/13912509484251567833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2459903029086935325.post-21354161866064312912010-12-15T14:52:31.365+00:002010-12-15T14:52:31.365+00:00My anger at this is partly my fault. Well that was a huge mistake.

The tuition fees policy was so important for the Lib Dems and their supporters that it surprised me to see so many of them sell out like that, just to keep their position. I have a lot of respect for 21 Lib Dem MPs who voted rebelled, and possibly even more so for 6 Conservatives who did likewise.

I dont think they will ever come as close to taking the majority as they did this year.Tom Westgatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11997280263800169701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2459903029086935325.post-87450272602109592672010-12-15T14:31:46.636+00:002010-12-15T14:31:46.636+00:00It’s highly annoying to see this, especially watch...It’s highly annoying to see this, especially watching the video back :/ grrrr... but I feel it’s hard to blame Nick Clegg because at the end of the day you’ve got to blame the coalition government and the tricky situation it has put the Lib Dem MPs in. At least some Lib Dems decided to vote against and abstain the fee vote, the MPs were put in such a sticky situation whereby they had to go against their previous beliefs. If you look at it another way, the conservatives got away lightly with this leaving the Lib Dems looking like “the bad guys”. I don’t look at the coalition government as being two parties, merely one... David Cameron’s Government.

I don’t think Lib Dems are finished as a political party but I don’t ever think they will be strong enough to overall win a general election and control the country. It’s too competitive between Labour and Conservative. You need to vote tactically these days, where I'm from the majority of the votes are Conservative therefore if you want anyone else but the Conservatives to get the seat you've got to vote second best, Lib Dem. However, if I was to vote tomorrow on general beliefs of who I think is the better party, it would be labour. Lib Dems don’t “have it in them” and I hate the conservatives. It really doesn’t come down to politics in my mind. Just a voting game.

On a side note lets count our chickens that our fees are £3000ish! *waheyyy!* - but I do feel very sorry for those who will pay the higher rates, on a cheeky note though – less people might go to university so our degrees might mean more... – raising tuition fees is just a fine example that the Conservatives are only interested in looking after the wealthier community and sod the poor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2459903029086935325.post-67117622416938607542010-12-15T13:30:15.542+00:002010-12-15T13:30:15.542+00:00Hey Tom!
